Notes per tool

ChartMatch is the broadest by market: crypto, forex, commodities, indices, ETFs and stocks in one database, and it can match a crypto chart against other asset classes. Its docs list daily bars with weekly and monthly also available. It is REST plus a web terminal.

AI Price Patterns offers a free MCP server for BTC, ETH and SOL, with replayable dated examples. Its site says access is free during an experiment and does not give an end date.

PatternFetch is built around a compact market-state brief for AI agents. The analogs call is one endpoint among several, and its example response shows summary figures rather than a match list.

Chart Echo is a visual web app for stocks and crypto. You frame a pattern, see past matches overlaid on your chart and read the outcome figures. Its FAQ says it does not use AI models to produce matches.

Chart Library covers US stocks. Its MCP package describes five read-only tools for market state, research notes and calibration.

LetsDoCrypto Pattern Finder is a free web tool for 20 USDT perpetual pairs, with 10 matching methods you can choose between.

TradingView indicators run on the chart you already have open. The one linked here compares the last 30 bars by default with that chart's earlier history.

Where Comparand fits

Comparand is for one question: find past times this coin's chart looked like this on the same exchange, and show what came after each one. You choose the exchange (Hyperliquid, Binance, Bybit, OKX or Coinbase), spot or perp, and a timeframe. Every match is dated, comes from the same coin on the same exchange, and is shown on its own. Nothing is averaged. It is an MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and AI agents, and it also has a REST API.

Add it to Claude Code with the claude mcp add command in the docs. Or try it first: the free tool searches Hyperliquid hourly charts, and /past-cases/<coin> has a free page per coin.

Where others are better

  • You want stocks, forex or commodities: ChartMatch, Chart Echo, PatternFetch and Chart Library cover them. Comparand is crypto only.
  • You want to match a crypto chart against other asset classes: ChartMatch lists cross-asset search. Comparand only looks at the same coin on the same exchange.
  • You want to look at a chart and drag a window over it: Chart Echo is a visual web app and its daily search is free without an account. Comparand is built for API and MCP use.
  • You want something free with no key: AI Price Patterns (MCP, BTC, ETH, SOL) and LetsDoCrypto (web, 20 perp pairs) are free today. Comparand has a free tool and free per-coin pages, but API and MCP searches are paid.
  • You want 30 minute bars, weekly bars or a choice of matching methods: LetsDoCrypto lists 30m and 10 methods; ChartMatch lists weekly and monthly.
  • You want to stay inside TradingView: its indicators run on your own chart.

Comparand data starts in January 2017 on Coinbase and is newer on other exchanges; the coverage table has the dates. Past cases, not a forecast.
